We Care

Newsletter

FROM ME TO YOU . . .
We are now engaged in FOCUS 40.  I hope that God is blessing and challenging you in the
daily devotionals that we have provided for you.  They are availalbe on our webpage
chapelhillchurchofgod.org and at our church building.

I want to share some ways that you can maximize this experience:

        - Meditate on the devotionals.

       - Be faithful at worship and in your growth group.

     -  Stay open to the leading of the Holy Spirit in sharing your faith.

     -  Focus your prayers on the spiritual transformation of just a few persons:  a friend, a family
member, a world leader, etc.  Its good to pray for the salvation of the whole world but
for this experience FOCUS on just a few.

     -  Consider some form of fasting.  You could fast one day a week, a half-day a week.  You
could skip one meal a day.  Use that time to focus your prayers.  I'm skipping solid
food after supper.  (Fasting is not magic but it does help us to focus and discipline
        ourselves to pray.)

     -  You might consider a media fast from your computer, TV, facebook or other distractions.
You might fast from media for specific periods, parts of days, during meals or whatever.
The aim is to "Be Still and Know that I am God."

     -  Aim to find the heart of God and to pray the Will of God.  Remember that "God is not
willing that any should perish."  When we pray for anyone's salvation we are praying
        God's will.

     -  May God bless, empower and use you to transform lives as you point those you love
to the forgiving, life-transforming grace of Jesus.
                                                                                               Love,
                                                             Pastor Randy

     CHEAPER LIVING by Ellen Blocher
Proverbs 22:7  "The rich ruleth over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender."
How do you use baking soda?  Baking soda is one of Mother Nature's natural miracles.

Sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher between loads to keep it sweet smelling.

Baking soda on a damp cloth will usually clean a glass baking dish.

Keep a box of baking soda handy to sprinkle on spilled juices in the oven.  Also, you can
douse a flame with baking soda.

Baking soda will remove coffee and tea stains from your cups.  Simply wet a cloth and rub the
     stains with baking soda.

Sponge a microwave interior with a mixture of two (2) tablespoons baking soda in warm water
     and clean your microwave.

Baking soda mixed with ground cinnamon or cloves make a great carpet freshener.

To keep regrigerator and freezer sweet smelling place an open box of baking soda in each
and replace it about every three months.

When washing fruits and vegetables add two to three tablespoons of baking soda to the water.

Of course baking soda is great when we are making cookies or any baked goods.
